Sunday, August 20:  The editor's plea

Help!!! (no, not the movie)

My knowledge of Hong Kong cinema is limited to what I have learned in the past 2 years. Clearly, I have a lot of catching up to do!

I created this site so I could quickly see what DVDs are coming out, find out what's playing in Hong Kong, and link to great news and review sites. Also I wanted to express my own opinions about the films I have seen, either to encourage or to warn!

Feel free to tell me about upcoming DVDs, or recommend films, write reviews, or give me more links, corrections, or criticisms.

Just as an aside: Because of my background as a writer (and not as a graphics designer), of necessity this site is content-oriented at the present time. Any suggestions you might have regarding the look and design of this site would also be appreciated.

As a reference point in case you read my reviews, here are my favorite non-HK films and DVDs. These films are not the ones I think are "the best ever made," but ones I watch again and again.
