Iceman Cometh (1988)

Yuen Biao is the leader of the Royal Guard of the Ming Dynasty, sworn to protect the emperor and kill Yuen Wah, a rapist and murderer. Engaging in battle, they end up frozen for centuries (don't ask) and are thawed out in the modern day. Yuen Biao winds up as a man servant to a woman he naively believes is a model (she's actually a prostitute, played by Maggie Cheung), and Yuen Wah finds his own level as an unrepentant criminal.

The audio and visual quality of the Universe DVD far from perfect, but until a better edition comes along (don't hold your breath), it will have to do. Letterboxed, removable subtitles, filmographies for the two stars and director. (08/24/02)
